Michael McNamara, a licensed Professional Engineer, one of the founding partners at EME, is an authority in executing resourceful practices in efficient building operations and in implementing sustainable design of building systems for efficient structures. He has built a firm recognized for its attention to detail and cost-effective implementation of energy efficiency.
Examples of Mr. McNamara’s background include working with the US Department of Energy at the National Gallery of Art in Washington DC in reducing its carbon footprint on this national monument while maintaining its distinctiveness. He has been involved with New York Presbyterian’s Milstein Heart Hospital in obtaining a USGBC LEED Gold certification.
In addition to these landmark projects, Mr. McNamara has been partner-in-charge on a number of projects with large city, state and federal agencies as well as the private sector. Some of which include the City University Construction Fund, NYC Health and Hospitals Corporation, NYC BOE Facilities Management Program, various NYSERDA programs, US DOE SavEnergy, Dormitory Authority, NYU Langone Medical Center, Northeast Health, and The United Nations.
Mr. McNamara is the author of nearly 50 technical publications on energy efficiency, building sustainability and cost-effective implementation. He has presented at national and local forums on building energy efficiency, renewable energy system optimization and effective design practices.
Mr. McNamara holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the City College of New York. |
